  • New fork settings. Optimisation of the oil-flow has made the forks more sensitive in absorbing the bumps as well as more reactive on the rebound, to facilitate acrobatic manoeuvres or simple movements of the front wheel.

  • New shock absorber settings. More stable performance over time, combined with greater reliability.

    New Keihin PWK ø 28 mm carburettor: more immediate and lively response at the bottom end, together with a marked improvement in power and acceleration in the middle-to-upper range.

    New filter box to optimize the fit with the new Keihin carburettor: improved airflow thanks to a larger diameter sleeve.
     
  • New support for securing the air filter: more compact dimensions to increase the flow of air and improve carburation at high revs.

    New dedicated carburettor union: 5 mm longer to optimise response at low revs and improve feel.
     
  • New crankcase. New design in the area of the connection between barrel and crankcase has reduced crankcase volume with a net increase in smoothness at low revs.

    New cylinder head design (on the 250 and the 270cc) ensures more regular carburation when shutting the throttle and provides greater engine torque.

    New single-chamber silencer (270cc only): smoothes out the power delivery at low engine speeds making it even more linear, and provides a noticeable increase in power and acceleration at the top end. Created as a “race-ready” engine size, the 270cc has evolved a stage further, delivering even higher performance combined with maximum usability.

Sherco trial 2008 series

New 2008 Sherco trial range is a step further in the evolution of trial bikes. At first sight, what is most striking in the new models is the new decoration, with a design that combines white, black, grey and blue – in the 2-stroke range – and red – in the 4-strokes – forming an attractive, cohesive and pleasant package. But apart from the aesthetic changes, the 2008 Sherco hide a multitude of small changes that will make them even more pleasant and seductive to ride. On the engine side, both the 2- and 4-stroke bikes feature significant improvements in the electronic management, with new setups that the customer can select from the handlebars through a switch to choose from a more energetic engine for competition or a more docile one for use in excursions. The 2- and 4-stroke engines have also been developed for the Euro Stage 3, which puts them in the lead in environmental-friendliness in the sector. One of the points where significant changes have taken place is in the suspensions. The 2008 Sherco bikes have a new Certain front fork, with Kevlar protections in the outer tubes and anti-friction treatment in the tubes. The rear shock absorber has also been revised with new settings and a new end stop with higher absorption capacity when the shock absorber is fully compressed. The side stand has been replaced by one made in aluminium and designed to fully integrate in the swing arm, and to be easier to operate from any position as well. Finally, there is a new, fully-wrapping front-brake disc shield. The new Sherco trial bikes will be available at the from early September.
